Feedback for Indonesia
An earthquake measuring 7.5 on the Richter scale rocked the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, triggering a terrifying tsunami that reached 18 feet in height and left a trail of destruction in its wake. Over 68,000 homes have been destroyed and entire communities decimated. At least 2,100 people have died, thousands more missing and over 200,000 survivors in need of humanitarian assistance. Abdullah Aid responded to the crisis and provided emergency aid. Food parcels have been distributed to the needy and Emergency shelters set up. Permanent shelters will be constructed to help the victims rebuild their lives.
Feedback providing a detailed overview of the work carried out and its effect on the people of Indonesia will be highlighted at the event.
Fundraiser for Yemen
We will be fundraising for the crisis in Yemen, a country where the victims are at threat of war, hunger and diseases. Civil war in Yemen has led to what the UN say is the worst man-made humanitarian disaster. 22.2 Million are in need of humanitarian assistance. 3 Million have already fled their homes with 2 million displaced.
Over 17 Million people do not know where the next meal will come from, while more than 8 million are at risk of starvation. Severe Malnutrition is threatening the lives of nearly 400,000 children below the age of 5. Health facilities have been destroyed amongst the war. Those facilities which are available are either too far or too expensive for the people.
Abdullah Aid are hosting a fundraising dinner to assist those affected and we ask you to join us and help make a difference
The fundraiser will include Quran recitations, Nasheeds and a three course meal featuring special guest Shaikh Sulaiman Moola.
